WB Group: communications, unmanned systems and integration across Polish industry

Poland’s WB Group combines communications hardware, software and unmanned systems, with public orders spanning FlyEye aircraft and FONET maritime communications.

WB Group is a Polish defense industrial group whose commercial position joins communications equipment, unmanned aircraft, software and systems integration. That breadth matters more than any single product headline. The group can supply a subsystem to another manufacturer's platform, assemble a larger package for Poland's armed forces, or work with an overseas industrial partner on a national requirement. Its company structure and customer relationships therefore deserve as much attention as its aircraft catalogue.

It is also larger and more established than the early-stage drone businesses with which it is often discussed. WB's group history traces its development through WB Electronics and the combination of specialist businesses, including RADMOR, AREX, MindMade and Flytronic. Acquiring capabilities in radios, aviation, automation and communications created an organisation able to bring several parts of a customer programme together.

Ownership and the group behind the brand

The 2025 management report, published on 25 May 2026, gives a more precise ownership picture than the description “private defense company.” Its shareholder table lists Piotr Wojciechowski with 45.49%, Adam Bartosiewicz with 28.07%, and a PFR investment fund with 26.44% of capital and votes. Those are figures at the report date, rather than an assertion about every subsequent share transaction.

The same report records group sales of PLN2,855.8 million in 2025, compared with PLN2,958.5 million in 2024. Parent-company sales were PLN2,503.1 million in 2025. These different reporting perimeters should stay separate: adding the parent number to consolidated group sales would double count activity. WB is consequently best understood here as an established industrial group, without attaching an unsupported employee-based SME label.

For a potential supplier, the practical implication is organisational. A relationship with one specialist business need not cover every WB product family. A radio component, aircraft service and software integration may involve different technical owners and procurement teams even when their products appear together under the group brand.

Communications provide a durable industrial base

WB's command and communications portfolio places systems such as FONET and TOPAZ alongside its unmanned products. At a commercial level, FONET concerns onboard communications, while TOPAZ belongs to the software and systems-management part of the portfolio. These categories can create business through installation, integration, updates and support over the life of the customer's platform.

A useful example is the 18 April 2025 FONET-NAVY announcement. WB described a further order for the maritime communications product from an unnamed end-user nation. It said the first naval platform had been delivered two years earlier and tested by that customer. The release also identified licensed production of the land FONET product in several countries, including the United States.

The commercial evidence is a product extending from land vehicles into ships, followed by an additional batch. The customer's name and order value were absent. For an industrial reader, the interesting question is how much of the installation and maintenance work remains common between variants, and how much becomes a ship-specific engineering task. A shared product family can simplify a supplier relationship, but the shipyard, vehicle manufacturer and end customer still occupy different positions in the delivery chain.

RADMOR adds a separate radio business to that picture. Its company page presents the COMP@N family alongside civil communications equipment and services covering design, delivery, installation and support. That service perimeter is important: an electronics sale can be part of a longer customer relationship involving maintenance and replacement equipment.

Polish orders show what the group actually supplies

WB's Polish procurement record provides concrete examples of its broader role. On 24 October 2025, the company announced a fourth executive agreement with the Armament Agency under the FlyEye framework established in September 2023. The release identified technical documentation, repair, logistics and training within the package.

This is a stronger commercial signal than an aircraft demonstration alone. It shows that the customer was buying the surrounding support needed to sustain a fleet. It also explains why a component manufacturer seeking work within such a programme should understand documentation and repair responsibilities, rather than treating the procurement as a count of airframes.

A 1 June 2026 announcement described three further contracts signed with Poland's Armament Agency on 28 May. The named families were GLADIUS, FlyEye and WARMATE, with financing attributed to the EU's SAFE instrument. The company linked the agreements to expanded production and domestic supply-chain activity. The release supports a record of signed customer commitments; it does not disclose the value allocated to every subsidiary or subcontractor.

These dated examples illustrate two routes into the group: a supplier may participate in a supported product family or contribute to a larger integrated programme. Partnerships extend the portfolio beyond domestic orders

RADMOR's communications background is also the basis for a newer space relationship. On 20 April 2026, Airbus Defence and Space, Thales Alenia Space and RADMOR announced an industrial cooperation agreement concerning a geostationary telecommunications satellite for Poland's Ministry of National Defence. The stated collaboration covered complementary expertise across satellite and ground infrastructure.

For WB, this creates a route into a programme architecture substantially different from selling a radio. A specialist can contribute national industrial capacity while partners supply other elements of the system. The announcement establishes the relationship and intended development; it does not supply a separately priced RADMOR production contract.

A 29 June 2026 agreement with Saab similarly identified areas of industrial and research cooperation. It included adaptation of WB products for Swedish requirements and work involving autonomous platforms. The commercially useful point is local adaptation with an established national partner. It would be premature to count the agreement itself as Swedish procurement revenue.

These relationships place WB in overlapping roles: established domestic supplier, subsystem producer and international integration partner. Overseas support shapes the route to market

WB's regional entities make the international model more concrete. WB America describes itself as a wholly owned group subsidiary addressing the American market through systems integration. Its existence establishes a local corporate route; it does not establish eligibility for every US competition or identify a particular federal award.

The role of WBE Technologies in Malaysia is especially revealing. The company describes warranty servicing, spare-parts supply and logistics support for Southeast Asian programmes, alongside regional marketing. That combination shows why international expansion is more than finding a distributor. Once equipment is delivered, a local organisation can become important to the continuing customer relationship.

The next commercially significant developments are therefore likely to be specific: another supported product order, a named overseas programme, a production agreement following an industrial partnership, or a change in the group structure disclosed through its reporting. They would clarify where WB is selling its own equipment, where it is sharing delivery with another contractor, and where it is building capacity for future business. Public records already support a substantial communications and unmanned-systems business; the newer space and Swedish relationships should be followed on their own timelines.

Ownership figures are dated to the report published 25 May 2026. Procurement statements remain attributed to WB Group; the FONET-NAVY customer is unnamed.
