Quantum Systems is a German uncrewed systems company whose business has expanded from aerial mapping and information collection into software, ground autonomy and a wider industrial supply chain. Its customer record includes a US Army selection for Vector AI and Australian acquisition and support contracts. Recent acquisitions explain how its current scope became broader than its original aircraft portfolio.
The company’s tenth-anniversary account dates its founding to 2015 and identifies Trinity and Vector as important products in its development. A current profile needs to retain those origins while recognising the significance of FERNRIDE, Hacker Motor and the MOSAIC software offering.
Aircraft families serve different customer workflows

The release said significant work would be performed by Quantum-Systems Australia in Redbank, Queensland. It scheduled deliveries to begin in April 2025 and support to continue into 2031. Those were the published contractual plans, not a statement that every later delivery had already occurred.
This is a different commercial package from an isolated aircraft order. The support element extends the supplier relationship beyond initial equipment delivery. It also makes the local organisation relevant to fulfilment, rather than merely a sales presence.
The combined A$90 million should remain a combined figure unless a source discloses the split. Assigning all of it to aircraft hardware would overstate that portion of the transaction. FERNRIDE brought ground-autonomy capability
On 17 December 2025, Quantum Systems announced its acquisition of FERNRIDE. The release described FERNRIDE’s software platform for ground autonomy, including container-terminal and yard applications, and an intended connection with Quantum Systems’ MOSAIC UXS offering. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The acquisition broadens the company in a specific way. It adds technology associated with ground vehicles and logistics, rather than simply another aerial platform. That creates a corporate connection between systems serving different physical environments.
The planned integration still needs to be understood at the product level. Acquiring a business establishes ownership; integrating its software into a broader offering is an implementation task. A subsequent named customer deployment would show how the combined capabilities are being sold and supported.
For commercial readers, FERNRIDE also introduces a civil industrial heritage within the enlarged group. An autonomy capability developed for logistics can become relevant to defence requirements, while retaining its own customer history and development constraints. The acquisition does not erase those distinctions.
Hacker Motor changed an existing supplier relationship
Quantum Systems announced the acquisition of 100% of Hacker Motor on 4 February 2026. The release identified the German electric-motor specialist as an existing supplier whose technology was already used in Quantum Systems platforms. It said employees and sites would be retained.
This is an example of vertical integration with a concrete subject: a component supplier became part of the group. The company linked the transaction to control over a part of its production chain, rather than to acquisition of a new government contract.
The distinction is useful for other suppliers. Bringing one capability in-house changes the relationship with that particular business, but does not establish that the group will internalise every component or stop working with external firms. The announced stage was signing. The financing is separate from the company’s customer contracts and does not disclose a complete present shareholder register. Its relevance to this profile is the scale of resources associated with the broader corporate direction.
Quantum Systems’ distinguishing position is now a combination of aircraft, software, acquired component capability and local programme organisations. The strongest follow-up will connect those resources with specific customer deliveries and supported products. Public records establish the named transactions and programme scope, while product-level revenue, full ownership percentages and independently assessed technical effectiveness remain undisclosed.
