ARX Robotics: ground platforms and Mithra software

ARX Robotics combines ground platforms with software for new and existing systems. Its UK subsidiary’s 2026 experiment participation provides a dated integration example.

ARX Robotics is a German defence robotics company with a public offering that combines ground platforms and software for new and existing vehicles. Gereon and Hector are its physical platform families; Mithra OS is the software layer. The company’s commercial position consequently spans equipment supply, integration and industrial partnerships.

The strongest public evidence for that position comes from several different relationships. The European Defence Agency identifies ARX in its competitively awarded experimentation programme. Daimler Truck and RENK describe industrial partnerships involving vehicle platforms and mobility technology. ARX’s own August 2026 account places its UK business in a US Army-led multinational experiment.

Platforms and software create different customer choices

ARX’s current catalogue describes Gereon as a tracked platform, Hector as a wheeled platform and Mithra OS as software for autonomous and existing ground systems. Those categories show that ARX is pursuing both new equipment and the modernisation of equipment already owned by customers.

The distinction affects how a buyer approaches the company. Purchasing a new platform involves a physical asset, maintenance and support. Adding software and associated integration to an existing fleet can leave much of the underlying vehicle with its original manufacturer. The two offers may be connected, but their commercial boundaries differ.

For industrial partners, that means the relevant discussion begins with the deliverable. A vehicle manufacturer, a component supplier and a government user may each interact with ARX through a different part of the business. A general robotics label gives little indication of who owns the customer relationship or supports the complete system.

Daimler Truck identifies a vehicle integration route

On 28 March 2025, Daimler Truck announced a letter of intent with ARX. The companies described intended integration of ARX technology into Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks platforms, including Unimog and Zetros, with both new vehicles and existing fleets in view.

The source is useful because the established vehicle manufacturer identifies the planned relationship directly. It establishes an industrial route for Mithra beyond ARX’s own ground platforms. The announced legal stage was a letter of intent, rather than a disclosed government order for a completed integrated fleet.

Commercially, modernising an existing vehicle can be a different market from replacing it. The vehicle retains its original industrial support context, while new digital capabilities introduce another supplier relationship. The allocation of integration and maintenance responsibilities becomes part of the eventual customer package.

A subsequent joint product or named customer contract would provide evidence beyond the original intent. Until then, the partnership should be described as a defined industrial development direction, without assuming that every vehicle in either manufacturer’s catalogue is already covered.

RENK adds another industrial relationship

RENK’s 9 July 2025 announcement described a strategic partnership with ARX covering digital mobility, industrialisation and international expansion. It included intended integration of Mithra with RENK mobility solutions and joint product development.

This is a different relationship from the Daimler letter of intent. RENK contributes a mobility and production perspective, while ARX contributes software and robotic-system expertise. The announcement’s scope extended to potential production sites and market expansion, but it did not disclose a completed factory or a government procurement value.

The pair of partnerships explains why ARX should not be viewed only as a standalone robot manufacturer. It is also seeking to place its technology inside wider industrial offerings. That creates opportunities for integration but also makes the actual contracting structure important.

For a reader tracking commercial progress, the next useful records concern the joint deliverable and the customer purchasing it. A partner’s industrial scale may support a development effort without automatically converting every planned application into current revenue.

EDA supplies a direct procurement record

The European Defence Agency’s 13 February 2025 account identifies ARX Robotics as the contractor for the medium tracked logistical ground-system category in its OPEX campaign. EDA says the contracts followed a competitive procurement process launched in July 2024.

That establishes a specific contracted role in an official experimentation programme. It is more precise than a company claim of participating in European defence innovation. It also defines the purpose: experimentation and evaluation, rather than purchase of a large operational fleet.

EDA’s 24 April 2025 update named ARX among companies whose proposed systems were assessed in preparation for the campaign. The agency described readiness and acceptance work before the planned summer activity in Italy.

These records show how the company entered a structured customer environment. They do not publish confidential evaluation findings or establish a follow-on production programme. For commercial readers, the value is the traceable procurement and preparation sequence, with the government organisation identifying both the company and its role.

The UK business adds multinational experimentation

On 6 August 2026, ARX published an account of its UK business participating in Project Convergence-Capstone 6. The company described Gereon systems taking part with British units in the US Army-led event at Fort Irwin.

The public account places the platform in a multinational integration setting. It is evidence of an experimentation relationship and company-reported participation, not a newly disclosed US Army production award.

That distinction matters because an experiment can test how equipment fits into a larger organisation before the customer decides what to buy. It can also expose integration and support requirements that are not visible in a product catalogue. The commercial significance is access to that process, while the later purchasing decision remains a separate event.

The Helsing profile shows another company combining physical systems, software and industrial relationships. For both businesses, experimentation evidence is useful when connected to the specific product and participant, rather than used as a universal endorsement of the portfolio.

Industrial expansion and the Roboneers venture

On 1 June 2026, ARX announced plans for a new Munich headquarters and production facility. It described a fivefold increase in German manufacturing capacity targeted by year-end, alongside wider European expansion.

A 25 June announcement with Roboneers then described formation of ARX Industries to produce Rys Pro ground vehicles. The release set out intended manufacturing across Germany and Ukraine and future output ambitions. It did not establish that those target volumes had already been produced.

The two developments concern different parts of industrial growth: expansion of ARX’s own facilities and a joint venture around another product family. They should be tracked separately. The production-expansion analysis examines the supplier implications of the capacity plan.

An undated financing update also reports an €11 million Series A extension led by Speedinvest, bringing the stated total to €42 million. That provides financing context without establishing present shareholder percentages or customer revenue.

For a prospective supplier, the relevant route depends on whether the work belongs to an ARX platform, a partner vehicle or the Roboneers venture. Those programmes may share software expertise while requiring different industrial interfaces and support arrangements. Identifying the product and operating entity gives a more useful starting point than approaching the entire group as one uniform buyer of robotics components.

ARX’s distinguishing commercial feature is the combination of its own platforms with software intended for a wider vehicle base. Official experimentation records and named industrial partners support that position. Future customer orders, completed facilities and integration milestones will show how the broader model develops. The public evidence leaves complete ownership, current staffing and the financial contribution of individual products undisclosed.
