That combination matters when researching the company: a Corvo aircraft announcement covers only part of a group that also sells systems integration, software work and long-term support.
The most useful recent milestone is the company's May 2026 announcement that Corvo X had entered service under the Australian Army's DEF129 programme. A separate public industry-participation plan exposes the acquisition and support contracts behind that programme, including named suppliers. Together, these records provide a clearer commercial picture than product specifications alone.
Who owns SYPAQ, and what does the business include?
The corporate overview dates SYPAQ's incorporation in Victoria to 1992 and identifies George Vicino as its founder. The current leadership page names Amanda Holt as managing director and chief executive, with David Vicino as chairman. This distinction matters because older announcements use different leadership titles.
The company describes its activities as management and technology consulting, systems integration and managed services, alongside specialist products. Its customer sectors include defense and aerospace, government, information technology and private enterprise. Corvo Autonomous Systems and Bellinger Systems are listed as brands within that wider business.
SYPAQ describes itself as wholly Australian-owned and veteran-owned in its May 2026 counter-drone announcement. The material reviewed does not provide a complete current shareholder register or individual ownership percentages. Those descriptions establish the company's stated ownership character; they do not identify every investor or beneficial interest.
For a potential supplier, the first practical task is to identify the relevant business and contract. An aircraft-component discussion, an ICT services opportunity and a communications-support arrangement can sit within the same group while involving different commercial teams, budgets and acceptance requirements.

The workforce figure comes from the April 2022 opening of the Defence Autonomy Centre of Excellence. That announcement also described expected future employment and economic activity. Those forecasts should not be carried forward as employees actually hired or revenue subsequently earned.
This leaves a real information gap for anyone comparing the financial scale of privately held defense suppliers. The answer is to retain the dated historical figure and seek a current disclosure, rather than turn an old growth ambition into an apparently precise company statistic. Likewise, a multi-year government contract says something about the programme's scope but does not reveal annual group turnover.
Corvo X: a contract, followed by a delivery milestone
SYPAQ's July 2024 award announcement described supply of Corvo X and a subsequent period of sustainment. It also forecast additional engineering, manufacturing and logistics jobs. The release established an award and an intended delivery programme; its staffing forecast was not a measured workforce count.
The public Australian Industry Capability plan, hosted by Defence in November 2024, gives acquisition contract JASD/CON/36390/1 a value of approximately A$15.26 million and support contract JASD/CON/36390/2 approximately A$12.36 million, both including GST. It describes a period from August 2024 through June 2029. These are the plan's dated contract values, not a fresh 2026 award or annual revenue disclosure.
On 12 May 2026, SYPAQ announced delivery and entry into service of a Corvo X fleet, describing the acquisition programme as completed. Its release also identified continuing spares, maintenance, training and support. The reviewed announcement does not disclose a fleet quantity, so the profile does not derive one from contract value or product pricing.
The sequence changes the commercial questions worth asking. Before delivery, manufacturing progress and acceptance dominate. After the supplier reports completion, support responsiveness, replacement supply and the management of product changes become more useful indicators of the relationship's durability. A completed acquisition milestone can therefore open a different period of supplier work without implying an entirely new aircraft competition.
The published supplier list reveals several routes into the programme
The same industry plan identifies CODAN for radio supply, Maser Defence for ground-control components, Currawong Engineering and AxisTek for machining, AVCRM for assessment work, and Pelican for transport cases. It anticipates possible support-phase opportunities in engineering, logistics, replacement components and maintenance, with engagement through trade events, industry media, referrals and existing supplier relationships.
For a smaller business, this is more useful than a general claim that a programme supports local industry. The named roles show that participation can involve a discrete product or service. A prospective partner can compare its offering with an identifiable work category and decide whether it has a credible reason to start a commercial discussion.
The list is also dated. It should not be read as a notice that all those roles are currently open, or that an incumbent's work is being recompeted. A sensible approach would establish whether the requirement concerns an existing component, additional capacity or a new support need before investing heavily in a proposal.

Bellinger adds a separate communications business

A November 2023 agreement with Leonardo DRS provides a concrete example of Bellinger's role: supplying, integrating and supporting communications technology for Australian Defence customers. The record describes an industrial relationship and associated programmes. Its then-future delivery targets should not be treated as completed merely because their calendar dates have passed.
Commercially, Bellinger broadens the group beyond aircraft manufacture. It creates a route based on local integration and support for another manufacturer's equipment. Training exports and counter-drone development are different stages

It supports a record of international training delivery. It does not disclose a directly paid Coast Guard aircraft contract or an export-sales amount.
By contrast, the May 2026 Mission Syracuse announcement concerns government funding for further development of Corvo Strike. Development support is commercially meaningful, but it is a different milestone from the Corvo X service-entry announcement issued on the same day. Combining the two would obscure which product has reached which stage.
